BEIJING (Reuters) – Computer software maker Adobe Systems Inc will shut its Chinese research and development arm, as U.S. technology firms face an increasingly hostile government in the world’s second-biggest economy.
French telecommunications equipment company Alcatel-Lucent has published a report compiled by its Motive Security Labs division, which found that malware infections in mobile devices increased by 25 percent in 2014, compared to a 20 percent increase in 2013.
Malware that cannot be uninstalled by the end user is being pre-loaded onto some cheap Android smartphones. The malware is pre-loaded into the system directory of the handsets at an unknown point within the supply chain.
