How To Save Jobs Research Resources

Notes from the author

I believe it’s important for students and researchers to have complete access to my research database on projects as far-reaching as this book.

Throughout How To Save Jobs, I cite many different research resources. Nearly all of those citations are listed in detail below.

There are more than 350 sources listed below. Not all of them made it into the book. Many of the sources listed served for background research, food for thought, or just interesting ideas and perspectives. The resources go all the way from a 1956 Presidential report to a YouTube video of Domino’s Pizza workers performing socially unacceptable acts on camera.

I used a very interesting and helpful tool to maintain this database as I worked on the book. It’s called Zotero, a project of the Center for History and New Media at George Mason University. It’s an add-on to the Firefox browser that helps organize and annotate research resources. The plug-in is incredibly helpful, but also a little fussy. If you’re not particularly technically inclined and you want to use this tool, you might want to find a techie friend to help you get everything set up. Since I worked on the book, I’ve moved to Pocket and Evernote, and find them to be far more helpful than Zotero, although neither will build a citation database as well as Zotero.

Dig in and enjoy reading. There are enough resources below to keep you busy for quite some time. Finally, it’s important to note that these were available when the book was originally written. They may, over time, be subject to link rot. If you can’t find a resource or the link is down, try visiting Archive.org and see if they can pull up a past version of the page.
