BEIJING (Reuters) – Computer software maker Adobe Systems Inc will shut its Chinese research and development arm, as U.S. technology firms face an increasingly hostile government in the world’s second-biggest economy.
It’s been just two months since researcher Karsten Nohl demonstrated an attack he called BadUSB to a standing-room-only crowd at the Black Hat security conference in Las Vegas, showing that it’s possible to corrupt any USB device with insidious, undetectable malware.
SIM card maker Gemalto has confirmed that its network was hacked – probably by the NSA and GCHQ – but said the breach could not have resulted in a massive theft of encryption keys.
